Abstract

A series of experiments were conducted with different minerals, plant growth regulators and organic acids in preservative solution for cut tuberose. From these calcium nitrate, benzyl adenine and citric acid, and a combination of these treatments with and without sucrose was tried to develop a viable and cost-effective preservative solution for extending the vase life of cut tuberose spikes. Based on the findings, calcium nitrate 0.01% + citric acid 250 ppm + sucrose 3% combination proved to be the best for recording maximum vase life of 14.67 days.
