In a field experiment, uniform sized bulbs of Dutch iris (Iris hollandica ev. Prof. Blaauw) were irradiated at 0, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1400 rad of gamma rays and vM2 generation was raised from the progeny of vM1 bulbs. Data for statistical analysis were recorded only on bulbs ranging in size from 1.6 to 2.20 cm. Plant height, leaf number and size, spike length, size of fall and standard petals, floret number, bulb size and weight recorded significant reduction whereas effect was nonsignificant for bulb sprout (%), plant survival (%), floret emergence, floret duration and daughter bulb number. Colour mutations and leaf variegations which appeared in vM2, persisted in vM3 generation.
