Evaluation of Chrysanthemum Varieties for Pot Culture

Seventeen varieties of chrysanthemum were evaluated to ascertain their suitability for raising as potmums under North Indian conditions. The varieties were Appu, Arun Kumar, Arun Singar, Baggi, Basanti, Bindiya, Birbal Sahni, Flirt, Hemant Singar, Pancho, Pol Geel, Pol Rose, Pol Wit, Punjab Gold, Ratlam Selection, Sharad Singar and Suhag Singar. Significant differences were obtained among the varieties for all morphological and floral characters studied. Keeping these characters in view, varieties Pol rose, Aran Singar, Sharad Singar, Suhag Singar and Bindiya were found to be highly suitable for pot culture.
