Abstract

The experiment on chincherinchee was conducted to find out optimum planting time and plant spacing for better vegetative growth, flowering and maximum bulb and bulblet production. Bulbs were planted in middle of October, November, December and January at spacings of 20 × 20 cm, 20 × 30 cm and 20 × 40 cm. It was observed that mid November was the best time to plant chincherinchee bulbs. The plant spacing of 20 × 20 cm resulted in optimum growth, flowering and bulb production over other spacings.
