Abstract

The effect of harvesting stage and time of gathering on oil content of Rosa damascena and Tagetes minute were studied in the present investigations. Further, oil extraction costs were calculated on pilot plant having capacity of 300 kg flowers/batch for Rosa damascena and 1000 kg flowers/batch for both Tagetes minute and Tagetes erecte. The extraction costs were found to be Rs. 10421.2/litre, Rs. 202.99/litre and Rs. 338.33/litre for Rosa damascena, Tagetes minute and Tagetes erecte, respectively.
