Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of different dosages of the formulation of bio-control fungus - Pochonia chlamydosporia (Verticillum chiamydosporium Goddard) for the management of Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid et White) Chitw on carnation. The efficacy of two dosages (50g/m2 and 100 g/m2) of bio-agent formulation was statistically at par in reducing root-knot index, nematode population in soil as well as roots and also the colonization of bio-agent on the roots. However, at these two dosages the formulation was significantly effective in management of root-knot nematodes on carnation when compared to the lower dosage of application of the formulation at the rate of 25g/m2. The results indicated that the application of 50 g of formulation of this bio-agent can bring down population of root knot nematodes and increase flower yield of carnation crop significantly.
