Studies on clonal propagation of Gloriosa superba and Gloriosa rathschildiana were conducted during 1997–98, both in vivo and in vitro methods of propagation were studied. Under in vitro studies, tubers were given different growth regulator treatments by dipping them for 12 h before planting and results revealed that ethrel at 1000 ppm is best treatment for getting maximum number of daughter tubers. In vitro studies were conducted using tuber tip segments as explants. The best medium for shoot multiplication was found to be MS supplemented with BA (10 ppm) + NAA (1 ppm) + GA3 (5 ppm). For in vitro rooting, MS medium supplemented with IBA (0.8 ppm) was found to be the best.
