Abstract

The plant height, number of leaves/plant, time taken for blooming, spike length, quality of spike, number and size of corms and cormels produced were significantly improved by increasing size of mother corms Wider spacing also unproved growth, flowering, corm and cormel production parameters except number of leaves/plant and time taken for spike emergence and blooming. However, S3 (30×40 cm) and S4 (40×40 cm) treatments were found to be at par for the important parameters like plant height, spike length, number of florets/spike, number and size of conns and cormels. The different corm sizes and spacings treatments failed to exert any significant effect on size of florets and cormels.
