Abstract

The present study was an effort to compare the influence of suckers and tissue cultured plants of gerbera for growth, yield and quality parameters. With regard to the vegetative characters, tissue cultured propagated plants recorded comparatively higher east-west (53.4 cm) and north-south (54.5 cm) spread than sucker propagated (48.8 cm) ones. In all other growth, flowering, yield and quality characteristics, sucker and tissue culture propagated plants were found to be at par with each other. The benefit cost ratio of using tissue culture and sucker plants was also studied.
