Influence of Graded Levels of Nitrogen and Sulphur on Growth, Flowering and Essential Oils Conten in Tuberose Cultivar Mexican Single

Abstract

Application of 200kg nitrogen and 80 kg sulphur/ha resulted in the producation of maximum plant height, number of leaves/plant, length of spike and rachis, number and weight of florets/spike and early flowering. The same treatment also significantly increased number of spikes/plant and yield of flowers and per cent essential oils content in flowers were obtained with 200 kg N/ha, whereas, sulphur did not significantly affect essential oils content in tuberose cv. Mexican Single.
