Abstract

Effect of various combinations of N, P and K on seed production of Celosia pyramidalis cv. Crusader was studied at University Farms of B.V.K.V., Mohanpur, West Bengal. A combination of N, P and K @ 200, 100 and 200 kg/ha, respectively proved to increase significantly number of flowers and seed yield/plant and also seed number and seed weight/flower than the control and recorded the best response in terms of above mentioned characters. Pooled data of two seasons indicated that application of N, P and K @ 200,200 and 100 kg/ha, respectively reflected maximum response in terms of number of secondary branches and leaves/plant. Other vegetative characters like plant height, number of primary branches and leaf area/ plant were recorded to be maximum under a combination with N, P and K @ 200 kg/ha each, which had statistically similar effects as that of N, P and K @ 200,100 and 200 kg/ha, respectively on the above characters.
