Abstract

An effort was made to standardize the propagation strategy under mist system for bougainvillea, vernonia, hibiscus and Jasminum multiflorum. In bougainvillea, hard wood cuttings treated with 1000 ppm NAA recorded the highest (83.5%) mean per cent rooting and the number of roots (17.00). In vernonia, the tip cuttings treated with. 1000 ppm NAA recorded the highest (85.42%) mean per cent rooting. In hibiscus, the tip cuttings treated with either 1000 ppm IB A or 1000 ppm NAA recorded 100 per cent rooting. The average numbers of roots were highest with tip cuttings treated with 1000 ppm NAA. In Jasminum multiflorum, tip cuttings treated with 500 ppm IBA resulted in highest (94.43%) per cent rooting.
