Abstract

Investigations carried out to assess the influence of potting media, nutrients and plant growth substances using in vitro regenerated plants of Zygopetalum intermedium particularly on important morphological characters found that maximum increase in shoot length (39.61 %) and leaf number (77, 53 %) after six months was in coco peat with tree fern (1:1). The plants produced bigger and wider leaves with 50.20 and 77.53 % increase, respectively. Foliar nutrition of Nitrophoska at lg/1 resulted in 23.42, 37.71 and 64.41% increase in shoot length after two, four and six months of intervals, respectively. The plants receiving 5mg/1 paclobutrazol significantly improved performance in terms of shoot length, leaf number and total leaf area.
