In the present experiment conducted to study the influence of rootstocks on the bud take, growth and flowering of rose cultivars, the cultivars budded on Rosa multifora recorded the maximum bud take, showed maximum vigour and maximum number of flowers per plant, while those on Rosa canina showed early flower bud initiation. Among the cultivars, Montezuma recorded the maximum bud take, while Sophia Laurence showed maximum vigour, gave early flower bud initiation and also maximum number of flowers per plant.
