Cut flowers of rose cv. First Red were pulsed and wrapped in three wrapping materials viz., newspaper, cellophane paper and kraft paper and then stored at 2° C for five durations i.e., 0, 3, 6, 9 or 12 day. The studies reveal that apart from wrapping the flowers in cellophane paper and kept under zero day storage (unwrapped and unstorecd/fresh), the flowers wrapped in cellophane paper and stored for 3 day resulted in increased vase life, volume of solution consumed, flower diameter, retained maximum proteins and reducing sugars and also improved appearance as well as showed minimum weight loss.
