French marigod (Tagetes patula Linn.) Selection-2 was planted in different months viz., May, June, July and August, to study the effect of planting time on growth and flowering parameters under Delhi conditions. In all the plantings, bud initiation has occurred in October indicating short day photoperiodic requirement of French marigold. Flower yield (173 g) per plant was maximum in case of June planting. Flower diameter (5.12 cm) and weight (6.84 g) were highest in August planting and lowest (3.80 cm and 3.57 g) in June planting. July planting was found to be the best for seed production.
