The presence of epithelial dysplasia is one of the prognostic predictors of malignant transformation rate of premalignant or potentially malignant lesions. Erythroleukoplakias, nodular leukoplakias, verruccous leukoplakias and intraepithelial carcinomas show an increasing frequency of dysplastic histological changes or aneuploidy. Medical and surgical management strategies for their treatment have shown promising results. This article is an attempt to review the management update of these advanced premalignant lesions.
