Lipoma is a benign, slow growing, soft tissue mesenchymal neoplasm composed of the mature adipose tissue. This tumor occurs more commonly in the region of neck, although less commonly on the back, arm, shoulder, anterior chest wall, breast, thigh, abdominal wall, leg, forehead and face in that order. Among the intraoral sites, lipomas are described to be found on the tongue, gingiva, labial & buccal mucosa. Here, a case of subcutaneous lipoma of the face is presented, which had lead to a facial disfigurement to the patient for which she reported to our hospital and required a surgical intervention. The tumor was successfully excised surgically through ‘submandibular approach’ and the wound healed uneventfully without reporting of any complications like facial nerve paresis or recurrence in the follow up period. Histologically, the tumor was found to be a ‘classic type of lipoma’.
