The corner stone for successful treatment outcomes of any condition depends on accurate diagnosis. Tumours of the maxillofacial region in adolescence can pose a challenge to the radiologist, surgeon, as well as the pathologist. This case report illustrates the dilemma that can be faced by any of the above three groups when tumours do not conform to ‘typical’ patterns.
