Multiple Orthognathic Surgeries Combinedwith Orthodontics in The Treatment of A Severe Class II Deformity-A Dentofacialand Psychological Progress Report

Patients who accept surgical treatment have a different set of motives for treatment and expectations for change. The cost of treatment advice and opinion from family, friends, dental professional, appearance of teeth and profile are some of the predictive factors for acceptance of treatment and compliance. Though most patients usually undergo the required surgical procedures in one sitting, some with severe deformities require more than one intervention. The psychological patterns and progress of patients requiring multiple surgical interventions is expected to be different from those that need only one procedure. This case report describes the dentofacial and psychological changes of a patient who underwent multiple surgical procedures combined with orthodontic treatment for the correction of a severe class II deformity.
