Abstract

A 22 year old female patient was referred to Department of Prosthodontics for restoration of root-canal treated tooth #11 with fractured crown due to trauma (ELLIS CLASS- III).

The search for new methods has been driven, in part, by patients, who have high expectations of aesthetic dentistry and who are also concerned about the intraoral biocompatibility of metals. This has led to search for sufficiently strong, metal-free, all-ceramic restoration to function in all areas of the mouth.

We report on a possible solution to this problem that uses computer-aided design/computer-aided milling (CAD/CAM) technology coupled with a novel, densely sintered, ceramic material.
