Central giant cell granuloma (CGCG) formerly known as giant cell reparative granuloma is a rare benign intraosseous lesion that may vary in clinical behaviour from being relatively quiescent to a highly aggressive lesion. The aetiology of CGCG remains mysterious. CGCG occurs more commonly in the mandible in patients under 30 years of age. The variable clinical course of CGCG may pose a diagnostic challenge thus necessitating a detailed clinical and radiological examination to avoid misdiagnosis. This article describes an aggressive form of CGCG affecting the maxilla in a 15-yearold female patient. The clinical, radiographic and histopathological features with a detailed review of literature are hereby presented.
