Here, we present the rare case of a 24-year-old pregnant lady suffering from tubercular temporomandibular arthritis with associated parotitis and huge soft tissue component.
Our clinical findings were diagnosed using Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Tubercular aetiology was confirmed with micro-biological evaluation of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) specimen.
Chronic monoarthritis of temporomandibular joint with adjacent soft tissue liquefied collection, may point out to possibility of tuberculosis. The ultimate diagnosis rests on laboratory studies of the acid fast bacilli (AFB).
