Abstract

The diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland obstructions and strictures can be problematic because of limitations of standard imaging techniques. With the introduction of salivary gland endoscopy, there have been a major step not only in providing an accurate diagnosis and location of intraductal obstructions and strictures, but also in permitting the minimally invasive treatment that can successfully manage those blockages that are not accessible intraorally. This article reviews the importance of sialoendoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland pathologies.
