Role of Videofluoroscopy in a rehabilitated case of fibrous dysplasia

Acquired maxillary defects may be a reconstructive challenge, apart from having adverse effects on the patient. The prognosis of the treatment depends upon the size of defect, available hard tissues for support, presence of skin grafts on the surgical side and patient temperament. This article describes the rehabilitation of such a case. It also highlights the role of videofluoroscopy in assessing the normal physiologic functions of patient after the successful rehabilitation of surgical defect.
