Is Paget's disease of bone rare in India?

Paget's disease Of Bone (PDB) is considered as a rare entity in Asian population especially India, China and Malaysia. Sporadic cases have been documented in Indians; however no systematic surveys have been undertaken. Moreover documentations were in Indian medical Journals only and the reports from various Indian centers documented in Indian Medical Journals confirm the existence of PDB in India and suggest that it may not be very rare or non-existent as was previously thought. Two consecutive cases of PDB with extensive involvement of the jaws that reported to the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Government Dental College, Trivandrum, Kerala State, Southern India, prompted us to search for PDB reports from India. Herein, we present the two cases of PDB and a review of Indian literature.
