Abstract

Malignant myoepithelioma (MME) of the salivary gland, also known as myoepithelial carcinoma comprises almost exclusively of tumor cells with myoepithelial differentiation. It is a rare malignant tumor with a predilection for the parotid glands and an average age of presentation being above 50 years. A case of such rare entity arising from submandibular gland in a 25-year-old young patient and an analysis of immunohistochemical markers which led to the diagnosis of this case is presented.
