Peripheral osteoma is a rare benign osteoblastic tumor with distinctive histologic characteristics. Their occurrence in jaw bones is extremely rare. The purpose of this article is to present an overview regarding a rare case of gigantic periosteal osteoma of the mandible. Clinical presentation, proper history, radiographic findings play a critical role in the diagnosis of periosteal osteoma from other similar lesions.
