Imaging findings in Craniofacial Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia

Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is an uncommon, but importantlesion affecting the jaws wherein there is replacement of the normal osseous tissue with fibrous tissue, within which there may be deposition of abnormal bone. The diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia is mainly based on clinical and radiographic examination. The radiographic findings of fibrous dysplasia can be distinctive depending on the amount of bone and fibrous tissue within the lesion. It is sub-divided into three major forms - Pagetoid, Sclerotic and Lytic. Here we present radiographic features of two cases of otherwise asymptomatic Cranio-facial Fibrous Dysplasia who reported to us due to esthetic disfigurement.
