Dens in dente: An enigmatic tooth anamoly

Dens in Dente, also known as dens invaginatus is a rare malformation of teeth resulting from the invagination or deepening of enamel organ into dental papilla before biological mineralization occurs. It commonly occurs in maxillary lateral incisor. Such a rare entity is being reported, which presented in the department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Subharti Dental College Meerut. The purpose of this paper is to discuss a case of dens in dente (coronal type III) with its clinical and radiographic features along with a brief review of literature.
