To evaluate the abnormalities suspected on conventional radiograph and routine maxillary and mandibular pathologies by DentaScan software and to study the CT spectrum imaging and ability of DentaScan software in evaluating the involvement of different components of maxillary and mandibular bone in various disease processes.
Suspected maxillary and mandibular pathologies were evaluated by Computed Tomography with DentaScan software in 40 patients. The obtained data was analyzed with Chi-square tests.
The results indicated that: Neoplastic lesions were more in number as compare to inflammatory lesions. Mandibular involvement of lesion is more compared to maxilla, especially molar region. More number of radiolucent lesions as compared to radio paque and mixed lesions.
Conventional computed tomography along with DentaScan software offered a much detailed anatomic map of the maxilla and mandible, thus providing a more accurate image of anatomical structures.
