Multifocal Presentation of Pleomorphic Adenoma: A Case Report with Review of Literature

Pleomorphic adenomas are slow growing, well-demarcated benign neoplasm that constitute more than 80% of benign parotid tumors. The neoplasm is usually solitary, but sometimes there can be multiple lesions especially in case of recurrent lesions. It demonstrates a peculiar clinicopathological behavior for numerous reasons: the high recurrence rate following primary surgery, the appearance of malignancy and the reported number of distant metastases histologically identical to the primary pleomorphic adenoma. Imaging features of recurrent parotid pleomorphic adenoma have been infrequently reported in the radiology literature. Here we report an unusual recurrent case of pleomorphic adenoma in which 32 year old female patient came with a swelling on the posterior palatal region since two years and she was operated for the similar swelling fifteen years ago.
