Abstract

Corticosteroids have always proved life saving drugs since ages. The specialty of Oral medicine, in dealing with wide variety of oral mucosal disorders, has always relied on steroids in its effective management. Despite many recently high lightened adverse effects of the long term steroid use, till date steroids are the mainstay in the treatment of many oral mucosal disorders. This review presents with an elaborated discussion about steroids, its beneficial use in dentistry, especially in the treatment of mucosal disorders.
