Extra Gingival pyogenic granuloma: Report of 3 unusual cases

Pyogenic granuloma is a relatively common benign mucocutaneous lesion due to local irritants, trauma, and hormonal factors. Clinically oral pyogenic granuloma is a smooth or lobulated exophytic lesion manifesting as small red erythematous papules on a pedunculated or a sessile base which is usually hemorrhagic. The surface ranges from pink to red to purple in color depending on the age of the lesion. This article reports three cases of pyogenic granuloma at unusual extra gingival sites (palate, tongue and buccal mucosa) with an emphasis on recent investigatory methods and treatment plan.
