Peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) is a relatively common reactive gingival growth of uncertain pathogenesis. It is most commonly seen in the anterior maxilla in teenagers and young adults. This article describes a case of peripheral ossifying fibroma in a 38 year old female patient. Clinical, radiological, histological features, differential diagnosis and treatment have been discussed. The importance of excellent communication with patients is also emphasized in this article.
