Abstract

Evidence based dentistry is a practical, patient-oriented approach which is similar to the regular treatment except for the fact that it takes into consideration the uniqueness of each patient and search the right treatment for him by studying the literature data available with similar case scenario. Evidencebased dentistry is a new paradigm meaning that treatment should be based on evidence gathered from scientific studies, preferentially based on randomized clinical trials involving a substantial number of patients. Aim of evidence-based practice is the systematic literature review, which synthesizes the best evidences and provides the basis for clinical practice guidelines.
