Abstract

There are multiple plating options to consider in the open reduction and internal fixation of condylar fracture of mandible. Depending on different fracture patterns of the condyle, different plating options can be employed to successfully reduce and fix the fracture. Geometric three dimensional plates have added advantage over the mini plates. Clinical, radiological and functional outcomes are evaluated in the condylar fracture cases fixed using the 3-D geometric plates. All plating options presented in the article have been shown in the literature to be successful in treatment of condylar fracture of mandible.
