Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) accounts for 80–90% of all malignant neoplasm of oral cavity and is the most common malignant epithelial neoplasm of the head and neck region. The occurrence rate is most common in 5th to 8th decades of life. OSCC rarely occurs in younger age groups who are less than 40 years old. The most frequent site for OSCC is border of the tongue followed by lower lip, floor of the mouth, ventral tongue, and alveolar mucosa/gingiva though sometimes it depends on the population and habit of the individuals.
