Abstract

The OdontogenicKeratocyst (OKC) is a benign lesion of intraosseous type which is said to be derived from remnants of dental lamina. It is the most common cystic lesion occurring in the maxillofacial region. Multiple occurrence of these cysts are less frequent and is usually associated with syndromes like GorlinGoltz syndrome or Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinoma syndrome. Because of its aggressive biological behavior and neoplastic progression, OKC has been identified as a ‘Tumor’ and later named as "KeratocysticOdontogenic Tumor". This case report emphasizes on the clinical features, radiographic features, histological features as well as the management protocols of OKC.
