Abstract

One of the most prevalent intra-articular conditions of the temporomandibular joint is disc displacement with reduction, which is characterised by the progressive displacement of the articular disc against the mandibular condyle and the articular eminence, pain, and in some cases, a restriction of mandibular movement. Physical therapy and occlusal splints are among suggested treatments; if left untreated, disc displacement without decrease may result.
