Idiopathic root absorption is one of the rare conditions observed in single or multiple teeth. Therefore, the study attempted to study few of the cases of idiopathic apical root absorption. It focuses to find out the types of root resorption and its cause. The need for the study is to try to find out and understand the cause of the resorption which may help many patients to save their natural teeth as the cause or the factors of the disease is still unknown (idiopathic). It will help to gain knowledge about the disease, which will make the patients aware about this rare condition. Root resorption results in the exfoliation of the deciduous teeth. But in permanent teeth, the resorption is not very frequent and may be pathological.
