Chemoprevention has been studied in several malignancies. The aim of chemoprevention is to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with cancer. Evidence of chemoprevention in cancer control originated from various studies on diet and cancer mainly studies on patients with oral leuk0plakia. Many studies have been made about antioxidants for cancer prevention. The success of several recent clinical trials in preventing cancer in high risk populations suggest that chemoprevention is a rational and appealing strategy.
