Peripheral Cemento-ossifying fibroma

Among the fibromas of oral cavity, cemento-ossifying fibroma has been reported as an occasional growth. This growth has been seen predominantly in children and adolescents, involving maxillary incisors and canine region. This kind of growth is seldom observed in the fourth decade of life in mandibular anterior quadrant with predilection for female gender. POF represents a reactive benign lesion of connective tissue and is not the soft tissue counterpart of ossifying fibroma (COF) and is also not related anyhow to peripheral odontogenic fibroma (POdF). Here presenting a case of an 18 year old girl with a gingival growth in the right mandibular posterior teeth region.
