Odontomas are the most common of the odontogenic tumours of the jaws, are usually asymptomatic and discovered in routine radiographic examinations. The etiology of the odontomas has not been explained exactly. They are mixed tumours, consisting of both epithelial and mesenchymal cells, that present a complete dental tissue differentiation (enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp). This article describes a case of a compound odontoma in a twelve-year-old boy that displaced maxillary lateral incisor palatally.
The treatment choice was complete removal of the compound odontoma
