Abstract

Science is undergoing another change, in helping mankind enter a new era. Many fields of science have throughout history rapidly made advantage of tools and techniques that allowed for the design of material properties at a finer scale. Growing interest in the future dental applications of nanotechnology is leading to the emergence of a new field called Nanodentistry. Nanodentistry is the future of dentistry in which every procedure will be performed using equipment and devices based on nanotechnology. Using a combination of nanomedicine and biotechnology in dentistry, it will become possible to replace teeth in a single procedure with ultimate precision and correctness. All diagnoses and treatments will be given using nanoscale-structured materials, nanorobots and thus near perfect oral health could be achieved. This review is an attempt to understand the newly introduced concept of Nanodentistry in the diagnosis as well as treatment of various oral diseases.
