Abstract

The Palynoassemblage of honey can provide information regarding the plants visited by honey bees for collecting nectar and pollen. The present communication deals with the qualitative and quantitative pollen analysis of eleven honey samples from Kamrup reserve forests, Assam. The study shows majority of honey samples to be unifloral with Brassica nigra, Salmalia malabaricum, Coriandrum sativum, Mimosa pudica and Syzygium cumunii. Other reliable nectar sources for honeybee are also identified from the study area.
