Abstract

The field experiment entitled “Evaluation of Nutrient Management Practices for Enhancing Productivity of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)” was conducted during rabi season of 2024–25 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan (India). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with eight treatments replicated thrice viz., T1: Control; T2: 75% RDF; T3: 100% RDF; T4: 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha; T5: 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha; T6: 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + 1 VWS (vermiwash spray); T7: 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + 1 VWS; T8: 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + 2 VWS. The soil of the experimental field was sandy loam in texture; low in organic carbon (0.45%) and available nitrogen (215.21 kg/ha), medium in available phosphorus (15.22 kg/ha) and potassium (211.10 kg/ha); and neutral in reaction (7.15). The results revealed that significantly higher plant height (at 60, 90 DAS and harvest), leaf length (at 60 and 90 DAS), number of leaves/plants (at 60 and 90 DAS), number of tillers per m2 (at 60 and 90 DAS) and leaf area index (at 60 and 90 DAS) was recorded with 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + One vermiwash spray (VWS), which was found statistically on par with 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha and 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + Two vermiwash spray (VWS). The significantly higher number of effective tillers per m2, spike length, grains per spike, test weight, grain, straw and biological yield as well as harvest index of wheat was recorded with 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + One vermiwash spray (VWS), which was found statistically on par with 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha and 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + Two vermiwash spray (VWS). Based on the findings of present investigation, it may conclude that application of 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t/ha + One vermiwash spray gave higher growth, yield attributes and yield of wheat cultivation.
