Abstract

A study was undertaken to assess the impact of awareness level of farmers’ participatory on-farm trail on balanced animal ration feeding of dairy cattle in Sangaria tehsil of Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. The animals were given three treatments i.e. farmers practices, recommended practices and refinement. The awareness level of the farmers was measured on two major parameters i.e. milk yield and decrease in anoestrous cases. The result indicated that there was a remarkable change in the awareness level and attitude of animal rearing farmers in all the three aspects of animal feeding after on-farm trials. The results showed that in T3 if we invest one rupee on balance ration income will increase upto 2.31 rupees whereas, in T2 the income will increase upto 1.50 rupees.
