Abstract

The research study was conducted in Bassi panchayat samiti of Jaipur district in Rajasthan state. Ten villages were selected purposively considering maximum area under vegetable cultivation from aforesaid block. Again ten vegetable growers were selected following simple random sampling technique. Thus, there were 100 respondents in all. The data were collected by personal contact method. The data so collected were tabulated and analyzed with the help of appropriate statistical tools. It was found that majority of the respondent farmers possess good extent of knowledge about correct Sowing time, Irrigation management practices, Soil and field preparation, Intercultural operations and Hybrid seeds of improved vegetable crops. Whereas, there is need to increase in existing extent of knowledge regarding Growth hormone application and Seed treatment in vegetable crops, and optimum seed rate of improved vegetable crops as they possess least knowledge in this regard.
