Abstract

An field experiment was conducted to find out the response of NP & K in cluster bean-wheat cropping system on the farmer's field for four years during 2005–06 to 2008–09 with 5 nutrient management treatments in both the cluster-bean and Wheat crops (control, recommended nitrogen alone, recommended nitrogen with phosphorus, recommended nitrogen with potash and recommended nitrogen with phosphorus and potash). The maximum grain and straw yield of cluster bean and Wheat received with combined application of recommended levels of NPK & Zn. The grain and straw yield of cluster bean as well as wheat received with this treatment was significantly superior then rest of the treatment tested. Similarly, significantly higher gross return and net return of the cropping sequence was also obtained with this treatment as compared with rest of the treatments and control. The maximum B: C was also recorded with recommended levels of NPK treatment than others.
